  • This volume is the main work, published between 1752-1756, of 18th century French architect Jacques Francois Blondel (1705-1774).
    The detailed studies by celebrated architects of churches, royal palaces, monuments, parks and so on, which follow the Introduction to Architecture in the first volume, constitute particularly important material for research concerning French architecture.

    The volume is accompanied by a total of 498 large-sized illustrations based upon on-site measurements showing panoramic views and detailed composition drawings, so that the interior and exterior decoration, and a range of architectural styles can be viewed.
