  • This work by Rodorphe Pfnor (1824-1909) gives a full account with detailed separate illustrations and many inserted illustrations of the Anet castle built in the Roanne river valley by representative architect of 16th century France Philibert de l'Orme (1512-1570) for Diane de Poitiers, the mistress of Henry II.

    The separate 56 illustrations which include two coloured illustrations are divided into four parts.
    The first part deals with the Entrance in the center of the panoramic view seen above, the second with the Chapel to the right, the third with the Castle to the left and the fourth with the mortuary chapel on the extreme left.
